PROJECT № 172

City: Kyiv

Project manager:  Vladyslav Matviychuk

Technology Readiness Level: TRL 6

A feature of the proposed electron beam technology is the possibility of 3-D printing of osteosynthesis elements and implants for orthopedics from titanium alloys in a vacuum.

The printing process takes place in a thermostable environment at a temperature of about 600 ᵒС, which prevents the formation of cracks and deformations and ensures high strength of the final products.

All this is a commercial advantage over laser printing technologies of titanium alloy products in an inert gas environment.
